What is Family Discipleship?

Family Discipleship is a new approach to faith formation that recognizes parents as the primary teachers of the faith. Rather than relying on a weekly classroom alone, this program invites the whole family to grow together as disciples of Jesus. Through shared learning, prayer, and conversation, parents and children deepen their relationship with Christ side by side, creating a faith that is lived not just at church, but in everyday family life. At its heart, Family Discipleship is about helping every member of the family continue the lifelong journey of becoming a disciple.

This year we will offer three Faith Formation programs:

Children Ages 3–6
Catechesis of the Good Shepherd
meets Wednesdays from 3:00–5:00 p.m., beginning September 16. This Montessori-inspired program invites young children to discover the mysteries of our faith through hands-on engagement with Scripture and the liturgy, nurturing wonder, prayer, and a personal relationship with God. Please note that space is limited.

Grades 1–6
Family Discipleship
meets once each month on Sunday from 10:45 a.m.–2:30 p.m. Families begin by attending the 11:00 a.m. Mass together, followed by lunch, large-group catechesis, grade-level instruction, sacramental preparation, and parent formation with activities to continue at home throughout the month. Grades 1–3 and Grades 4–6 meet on alternating Sundays; the schedules are attached. Parent attendance is required.

Grades 7–8
The Way
meets twice each month on Sunday evenings from 5:00–7:00 p.m., leading into the 7:30 p.m. Mass. In preparation for Confirmation, students will participate in Alpha, study the Gospels, and discover how to live the Gospel through Catholic Social Teaching. A light dinner will be provided.

Please use the registration link below to enroll your child. Please complete one registration form for each child.

Tuition is $365 per child. Families with children preparing to receive a sacrament this spring will also pay a $392 sacramental preparation fee. Tuition may be paid by check at the parish office or by Venmo to @epiphany22.

If this is your family's first year in our Faith Formation program, please email a copy of your child's baptism certificate to faithformation@epiphanychurch.nyc.

Registration forms, baptism certificates, and fees are due by November 1. Rolling registration will be available for Family Discipleship; however, students preparing for a sacrament may not miss more than two retreat days during the year.
