We Believe In The Unbelievable

Although the Catholic Church worldwide will celebrate the Feast of the Epiphany this coming weekend (January 3 & 4th), the Church of the Epiphany will have a special celebration of the arrival of the Three Kings on its official day--the twelfth day of Christmas, Tuesday evening January 6th, at 7pm. The feast is especially meaningful to us, of course, because it is our parish family's feast day.

Traditionally, the story of the (non-Jewish) Magi's journey has symbolized the inclusion of all nations in God's plan of redemption, with Jesus the Christ as Savior of all people. And to highlight that point (and make it all the more joyous) we will be celebrate it with a bilingual (Spanish and English) Mass at 7pm Tuesday evening.  

Parts of the Mass will be prayed in English and parts in Spanish; we will have festive music from our Latino sisters and brothers; and to top it all off, we'll share a delicious meal catered by Casa Adela, the famous Lower East Side destination for authentic Latin food.

We joyfully invite you to celebrate the Feast of the Epiphany (Día de los Reyes)  with us, as we continue our mission to renew our community and city with the light and love of Jesus.

EVERYONE is welcome to our weekly CONNECT Program provides a year-round engagement with peer parishioners who explore church teaching, theological perspectives, and spiritual traditions within the Church. A Connect meeting offers a delicious, free home-cooked meal, a presentation on faith formation, and a synodal discussion about the topic of the evening. CONNECT is comprised of three groups—IGNITE, our Epiphany Young Adult Group; MILLENN-X, our Millennial and Gen-X group; and SEEKERS, our senior wisdom sisters and brothers. Each group meets together for fellowship of a delicious, free!, home-cooked meal, and then splits off into their respective spaces on a rotating basis for: 1) prayer/faith-sharing/worship; or 2) for a faith formation presentation (with synodal discussion) by Fr Jim Mayzik SJ, our Faith Formation Director Samuel Newton, or an invited Guest Speaker; or 3) a presentation by one of the members of the group. You receive fellowship, learn more about your faith, and have the opportunity to experience the Holy Spirit working in the group!

Spend an hour online with parishioners and Fr Austin Titus in reflecting on the upcoming readings for Saturday and Sunday Masses at Epiphany. When we break open the Word, we explore some of the historical, cultural and theological elements regarding the readings, and cosider what they might mean for us today.
